Memorial Day 2023: American Legion Pickens Post 11 Holds Post Everlasting Ceremony at Hillcrest Memorial Park

On Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, 2023, members of the American Legion Pickens Post 11 held a Post Everlasting ceremony for veterans who died and were buried at Hillcrest Memorial Park since the previous Memorial Day. Legion Post Chaplain Gary Parsons thanked those in attendance for coming to the ceremony, and members of the Pickens High School Army JROTC presented the colors and placed a wreath. Legion members raised the American flag in the Veterans Section of the cemetery from half-staff to full-staff. Parsons read the names of the veterans, offered a prayer, and lit the names to send them to the Post Everlasting.
